- Improved User Management (Staff only)
A new set of permissions has been added to limit users ability to check in and out. Staff can now specify whether a user can check-in/out for herself. This can be done for new and existing users.
A new Comments field has been added to the users records. The field is optional. Users have requested this field so they can store location, phone number etc.
When adding a user, you can select to automatically send a welcome email that contains login credentials to the site.
Details can now be edited for existing users
You can get to the user details page for a particular user from the Users Report accessed from the Users ... List Users menu:
- Improved Periodicals Management (Staff only)
You can now delete issues and copies. You can see all off a publication's issues in a single page. - Search Publications by ISDN
You can now search publications by ISDN in addition to Title, Author and Bar code. - Admin Menu (Staff only)
All staff administrative actions are now available from a single menu on the front page:
- Bar codes and Comments
You can now enter a bar-code for each copy of a publication.
The bar-code can be used to create spine labels for books.
You can search for a bar-code from the "Search Library" box on the front page.
If you have a scanner, you can use it to get to the publication by scanning the copy's barcode in the search-box.
- Delete users (Staff only)
You can now delete a user from the user's details page
To get to the user's details page, click on the user's name in the users report which can be accessed from the Users...List Users menu item on the Admin menu bar.
- Edit pulications (Staff only)
Some of the publications' fields can now be edited directly from the publication details page.
Just click on the field to edit it.
- Remove from Staff (Staff only)
Staff permissions can be removed for a particular user from the a user's details page
- Export the list of publications in your library
Export the list of all publications in your library at the click of a button. Just click on the Export as CSV file at the bottom of the publications report. Access the publications report by clicking on the reports button on the staff's front page.
- Added support for periodicals
You can now keep track of periodicals on Oxylib as easily as books. You can add issues and multiple copies per issue.
