On this page you'll take a quick tour of Oxylib.

The Front Page

When you log in, you'll be directed to your personalized front-page.
From the front page, users can search for books in your library, see a list of all their checkouts, and see books recently added to the library among other things.


Searching for publications from the front page

Members of the Staff have additional options available from the front page.
For example, we assume you'll want to add users, publications, see various reports, and perhaps track your book orders as well.

Checking out and checking in

Once users locate the publication they seek, they can check-out and check-in copies by clicking a button.
Staff can check out and check in copies on behalf of other users, get a list of all outstanding checkouts and set up automatic reminders for overdue checkouts.

Adding a Publication

We provide an easy way to add publications to your library. Publications include books, periodicals (magazines), CDs and DVDs, Electronic media (e.g. a pdf, word document, powerpoint presentation etc.). By putting in a book's ISBN, Title and/or Author, we can look up the publication and complete the rest of the information, including a thumbnail:

Adding a publication is a matter of seconds. You can have multiple copies of a publication and can optionally specify the location of each copy, including shelf location.

Order Tracking

Users can request for a book to be ordered.
The staff is notified of such a request by email and can see all order requests on the front page.
Once the book has been ordered and arrives, it can be added in a single click - The user requesting the book is then notified by email.
